Far Cry 2 stuff

My Far Cry 2 Texture Converter

It’s been pretty quiet here lately…

I thought I’d get the ball rolling again by posting a little tool I’ve been working on for a while. I’ve used this tool as a means to learn a bit more about .NET and C# in general, otherwise I could have whipped this up in a matter of a day or two. There will be far more coming as well, and eventually a full Far Cry 2 model/texture pack, most likely for the Source Engine/GMod.

So without further ado, here’s a zip containing both the GUI and command line versions. Please report any bugs.

Thank you very much! Everything works fine! Forgive me for my insolence, but returned again in xbt from DDS? I wanted to correct some of the textures in the game, but when i restore format using Hex editor, the game instead of the texture turns pink square)))

I’m not sure exactly what the contents of the XBT header represent, but your best bet of getting textures back in the game and working would be to leave all the texture settings the same (including the size of the texture) and copying the header of the original texture back at the beginning of your modified DDS texture. If that doesn’t work, there’s a possibility that there’s some sort of a length check/checksum in the header and it isn’t possible to modify without figuring out how the checksum was made.

I might just reinstall my old copy of Far Cry 2 and start working on this again…

I just realized the link to the download has been broken for a few months, I updated the download link temporarily until I fix this project up enough to put it on github.
